TeA - Assertional Effects illustrate the impact of OWL axioms
In knowledge bases of sufficient size, it is difficult for single contributors to keep an overview of the contained knowledge and data. For knowledge bases in OWL, assertional effects have been developed to mitigate this problem. Assertional effects illustrate, after inserting (or deleting) generally true statements (terminological and role axioms in OWL), using concrete instance data which new knowledge has been gained, or lost.
Read about the theoretical background of asertional effects.
Try out yourself, how assertional effects can support you when editing knowledge bases in OWL using this online version of MoKi.
The backend functionality of assertional effects has been published as TeA package (in Java) under the GPL v3. The TeA package mainly offers the functionalities to compare two OWL knowledge bases and to compute assertional effects. The most comprehensive documentation of the TeA package can be found here. A quick start to using the TeA package is to look at the TeaTypes - class and to use its getCollectedAssertionalEffects() - method.

APOSDLE - New Ways to Work, Learn and Collaborate
Lifelong Learning has become an essential ingredient for success within our knowledge society. The EU project APOSDLE will enhance knowledge worker productivity by providing learning support within the computational work environment.
A short trailer demonstrates this approach, and a storyboard describes how APOSDLE can be used.
The APOSDLE movie is also available in high defintion. We recommend VLC for best viewing of the HD version of movie. VLC can be downloaded and used for free at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. The following downloads are provded:

MoKi - A Wiki to model tasks and topics in an integrated manner
Knowledge based systems rely on explicit representation of knowledge. MoKi is a wiki-based modelling tool for modelling both tasks and topics. Emphasis has been put on making MoKi an easy-to-use tool even for non-expert knoweldge engineers. MoKi can be tried online, and a storyboard describes how MoKi (together with another modelling tool, TACT) can be used to configure APOSDLE. MoKi development is led by the Data & Knowledge Management group at the FBK in Trento, Italy, in collaboration with the Knowledge Services Area of the Know-Center.
Sasu (Tag Recommender for Pictures)
Imagine you upload a picture to Flickr and automatically get tag recommendations, as well as examples of how other users have tagged similar pictures. Our research prototype tagr does just that. It recommends tags based on existing tags for the picture, on information about the user (you) and on image analysis.
tagr uses data from the Flickr group fruit & veg. Therefore, most features function only well with pictures of fruits or vegetables.
